General Terms & Conditions
IMPORTANT!
PLEASE WAIT FOR CONFIRMATION ON YOUR ENTRIES BEFORE COMPLETING VETERINARY WORK. ENTRIES MAY BE SCALED BACK OR A CLASS CANCELLED. YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED NO LATER THAN December 1st ON ACCEPTANCE OF YOUR ENTRIES.
Bulls
- Selling yearling bulls only.
- Any current DTBA member can consign.
- Maximum of 3 bulls per consignor. Sale will be limited to a maximum of 30 bulls total.
- Bulls will be brought to Rapid city for viewing during winter conference/sale. Sale will be simulcast video (no animals put through the ring).
- Entry Fee is $600 per bull. No additional consignment fees charged.
- All pictures and videos required for marketing and auction are the responsibility of the seller.
- Buyers will pick up bulls from Rapid City Location within 24 hours of the sale.
- Responsibility of seller to meet the health requirements and get appropriate health papers to get into South Dakota. Health papers must be presented at time of delivery, or provided to the office ahead of delivery, or animals will not be unloaded
- All transport paperwork from Rapid City to Buyer destination will be handled by onsite vet on sale day.
- Bulls will be sold with a semen test or breeding guarantee documented by the seller prior to the sale.
- It is up to the consignor to decide what other vaccinations and testing they want to provide in order to increase the potential value of their animals.
- Sale order determined by lottery; seller gets to pick which animal goes in what spot
- DTBA will provide tags with lot numbers, DTBA identifier and sale year
Heifers
- Must enter at least one bull in order to enter a pen of heifers.
- One pen of heifers per consignor
- Entry fee is $600 per pen of heifers. No additional consignment fees charged.
- All pictures and videos required for the auction will be the responsibility of the seller.
- Heifers can either be yearlings or 2 year old breds maximum 5 per pen.
- Heifers will be sold by the pen (not individually), but if a consignor wants to sell an individual heifer they can enter one head in that pen
- Heifers will not be brought to town. They will be sold over simulcast auction with pickup scheduled from home ranch.
- Scheduling of pickup, necessary testing/vaccinations, and transport paperwork will be between the buyer and seller with no involvement from the DTBA.
Timeline
- November 15th – Entry forms and entry fee must be received.
- December 1st – Confirmation of entries and lot numbers will be assigned.
- January 1st – Program Description must be received by January 1st so that the sale catalog can be completed and made available in Denver for the National Western Stock Show and the Gold Trophy Show and Sale.
- January 1st – All sale media, including pictures, videos, data, updated information, and heifer sale weights must be received.
Fees
- All entry fees are non-refundable and non-negotiable
- Entry fees will not be refunded for non-delivery of animals
- Payment, in full, must accompany the entry form or entry will be nullified. You can pay on website
- No phone or email entries accepted
Responsibilities
- The Dakota Territory Buffalo Association acts only as an agent and will assume NO responsibility in the event of injury or death to any animal
- The Dakota Territory Buffalo Association acts only as an agent and will assume NO responsibility for any discrepancy between the buyer and the consignor
- The consignor assumes all responsibilities regarding the health requirements and terms and conditions of this show and sale as outlined
- Any death loss incurred at any time during the holding of the animals prior to the sale and or during load out is at the consignor’s own risk and no compensation will be given for any reason
- Consignor agrees to indemnify and hold the Dakota Territory Buffalo Association, its officers, members, directors, employees or agents, harmless from and against any lawsuits, claims, action or causes of action, arising out of, or in connection with, any errors or omissions of Consignor, its agents, representatives or employees, with respect to Consignor’s duties and responsibilities set forth in this Agreement. This obligation by Consignor includes, but is not limited to, the cost of defense, payment of any judgments and payment of any expenses and for attorney’s fees and other costs which may be incurred.
Scoring
Scoring will take place as a fun exercise to generate entertainment at the time of viewing the Animals and will have no weight on the sale or outcome of the sale.
Program & Operation Description
Answers to the following questions must be provided to the DTBA by January 1st so that the sale catalog can be completed and made available in Denver for the National Western Stock Show and the Gold Trophy Show and Sale. Please note that this information is required unless otherwise noted; however, this is your opportunity to represent your animals and your program. The more information you provide the better.
- Ranch Bio
- Weaning date and weaning weight
- Describe post weaning management and nutrition
- Primary forage source – e.g., hay, grazing, mixed ration
- Type of supplement provided, if any, including amount (Lbs./day)
- To grass date (include weight, if available)
- Describe management while on grass
- Type of supplement provided during the growing season, if any, including amount (Lbs./day)
- Off grass date (include weight if available)
- Describe management post grass
- Primary feed source – e.g., hay, grazing, mixed ration
- Type of supplement provided, if any, including amount (Lbs./day)
- Sale Weight (will be weighed when dropped off at yards)
- Vaccination program (include every dose administered with name and date)
- Breeding soundness exam results and/or buyer guarantee
- Describe genetics or pedigree, if available
- Describe the environmental conditions for the year – e.g., climate and weather, range condition, water & forage availability
